Rechtsanwalt MARTIN WISSMANN, LL.M. (George- town University) advises companies on all questions of German and European completion/antitrust law (merger control, competition/antitrust and penalty proceedings, claims for damages as well as compliance matters and providing compliance training). He represents companies and managers before the national courts and European courts primarily in competition/antitrust and regulatory law matters and penalty and damage claim proceedings.
Admitted to bar: pursuant to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany („Bundesrepublik Deutschland“) in 1991.
Education: Legal studies at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt on Main and at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (LL.M.).
Carreer: From 1991 to 2009 lawyer at the premier league law firm Clifford Chance (and its German predecessor Pünder, Volhard, Weber & Axster); from 1996 on as Partner. He founded WISSMANN LAW in Duesseldorf in the fall of 2009. Since 2017 he is active partner and co-founder of WISSMANN | LAW Rechtsanwälte PartG mbB.
Memberships: Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht (antitrust law associa- tion)and Deutsch-Amerikanische Juristenvereinigung (German American Lawyer’s Association).
Academic Positions: Lecturer for antitrust law at the law faculty of the Heinrich-Heine University Duesseldorf (Duesseldorf Law School).
Publications: Author of various publications, inter alia co-author of “Wissmann/Dreyer/Witting, Kartell- und regulierungs- behördliche Ermittlungen im Unternehmen und Risikoma- nagement, 2008” (see page Publications for more details).
